A bookkeeper who works in your Exact Online
Your books stay in your own Exact Online. We book your expenses in it, with the receipt attached, and only ask you for what is missing. A bookkeeper checks the month before we close it.
What we do in Exact Online
- Fetch your bank transactions from Exact, per bank journal. If you have more than one bank account, we keep them apart.
- Book every expense as a purchase entry in your purchase journal, with the GL account and VAT code from your own administration
- Look up the supplier in your accounts, or create it if it isn’t there yet
- Link the receipt or invoice to the entry as a document
- Book an invoice with several lines across several GL accounts, so the total matches what left your bank account
- Fill in cost centres if you use them in Exact
How to give us access
- You sign up at openzero.nl/signup and choose Exact Online as your package.
- You choose the country of your Exact environment (the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom or Germany) and click Connect.
- You log in to Exact Online and give OpenZero access.
- You choose the division and see your bank journals. You choose which ones we keep up to date.
You don’t share a password with us. You can withdraw the access in Exact Online whenever you like.
For your accountant
If your accountant already works in your Exact Online, nothing changes for them. Every booking is in your own administration, with the document attached and a short description of what it is.
Payroll, annual accounts and tax advice stay with your accountant.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this work with every Exact Online edition?
- We need access to your bank entries, purchase entries and documents. If you’re not sure your subscription includes that, email us before you sign up.
- I have more than one division in Exact. Does that work?
- Yes. Each division is a separate subscription with us. You connect them one at a time.
