What we do in Xero

• Book every expense as an approved bill, with the account and tax rate from your own Xero on every line
• Create a contact if the supplier isn’t in Xero yet
• Attach the receipt or invoice to the bill
• Record the bill payment from the right bank account. In Bank reconciliation, Xero then offers the bill as a match for the bank transaction.
• Record incoming payments against your outstanding sales invoices
• Use a tracking category as cost centre, if you have one

Where the bank transactions come from

Xero doesn’t pass on bank transactions through its connection. So we get them in one of these two ways:

• You connect your bank account directly when you sign up. This works with Dutch and many European banks, such as ING, ABN AMRO, Rabobank, bunq, Knab and Triodos. Your bank asks for your permission. It is valid for a set period, and you can see until when.
• You upload a bank statement (CAMT.053) in your portal.

How to give us access

1. You sign up at openzero.nl/signup and choose Xero as your package.
2. You click Connect, log in to Xero and choose the organisation.
3. You connect your bank account or choose to upload statements.

You don’t share a password with us. You can withdraw the access in Xero whenever you like.

Xero is in English, and so are we if you like. The portal and our emails are available in Dutch, English, German and French.
