A bookkeeper who works in your Moneybird
You keep your own Moneybird. We book your bank transactions in it, attach the receipt to every booking and only ask you for what is missing. A bookkeeper checks the month before we close it.
What we do in Moneybird
- Fetch your bank transactions from Moneybird as soon as your bank has put them there
- Book every expense as a purchase invoice, with the category and VAT rate from your own Moneybird
- Attach the receipt or invoice to the booking
- Link the payment to the booking, so the bank transaction is settled in Moneybird
- Match incoming payments to your outstanding sales invoices
- If you use projects as cost centres, we put the project on every line
You keep making your own sales invoices in Moneybird, as you always have. We link the payments to them when they come in.
How to give us access
- You sign up at openzero.nl/signup and choose Moneybird as your package.
- You click Connect and log in to Moneybird.
- Moneybird asks whether OpenZero may access your administration. You choose the administration and give permission.
- You see your bank accounts from Moneybird and choose which ones we keep up to date.
You don’t share a password with us, and no extra user is added to your Moneybird. You can withdraw the permission in Moneybird whenever you like.
What you need in Moneybird
Your bank account must be connected to Moneybird, so the bank transactions come in there. Check whether the number of bank transactions per month in your own subscription suits your business. This differs between Moneybird subscriptions.
If your bank isn’t connected, or there is a gap in the transactions, you can also upload a bank statement in your portal.
What stays the same
- Your books stay in your own Moneybird, in your name
- Your accountant keeps the same access and sees the receipt with every booking
- If you leave OpenZero, everything is already where it belongs

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a more expensive Moneybird subscription?
- Not for us. We don’t need an extra user. Your bank transactions do need to come into Moneybird, and that depends on your own subscription.
- I’m months behind. Can you still help?
- Yes. We book the old months first and then close every month. See catching up on your books.
